The OpenAI-compatible interface made swapping in fast. Two things we hit: (1) tool_choice / function calling returns malformed arguments with XML artifacts, so we had to abandon tool use and go plain JSON-in-content. (2) The model reasons extensively before outputting JSON, so with low max_tokens it never reaches the output; needed 3000+ tokens. Once we worked around both, the model was solid for style narrative generation. Would love reliable tool_use in a future release.
